Mile Run Maps

If we do not have access to one of the local football fields and our cadets want to run outdoors; here are some options.

One mile is 5,280 feet.  Half is 2,640 and a quarter is 1,320

You can open google maps - and with a laptop you can right click and measure distance. Directions here

Option 1: Cascade Park

Out and back ONCE... half a mile out, half a mile back:

Starting (and finishing) at the Telephone pole just across the street from the armory; running past the dog parks(not on this old map)- hug the grassy area around the edge of the parking lot on the way 'out' Continue on the sidewalk next to the building, down past the ice cream stand, over the bridge and around the bend.  Turn around where the road 'splits' and return on the same path; but when you reach the parking lot go straight across; do not hug the tree line on the return.

Option 2: Cascade Park

quarter mile out and back TWICE:

Starting at the Telephone pole; running past the dog parks(not on this old map)- hug the grassy area around the edge of the parking lot on the way 'out' - turn around at the sidewalk leading down into the park; on your return you go straight through the parking lot (not hugging the tree line this time)

Option 3: Ben Franklin

quarter mile out and back FOUR TIMES:  Starting at the south side of the main entrance sidewalk - run up to the north corner and turn around... finish where you started.
